THE WHITE CAUCASIAN SHEPHERD
Ancient Livestock Guardian •Natural Guardian Instinct   • FCI Pedigree

The Caucasian Shepherd Dog is one of the world's oldest livestock guardian breeds, developed over centuries across the Caucasus Mountains. Historical records describe powerful guardian dogs protecting flocks, homes and families throughout present-day Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan and the North Caucasus.

Rather than being developed for appearance, the breed was shaped by natural selection and practical working ability. Courage, sound judgement, endurance and a strong guardian instinct enabled these dogs to thrive in some of the world's most demanding environments.

White-coated Caucasian Shepherd Dogs have always existed as a natural colour variation within the breed. They are not a separate breed but a recognised coat colour within the FCI breed standard.

Today, responsible breeders focus on preserving the breed's authentic character, stable temperament, sound health and natural guardian instinct for future generations.

                                                                            TEMPERAMENT

The White Caucasian Shepherd is not simply a guard dog — it is an intelligent and independent guardian breed with a strong sense of responsibility toward its territory and family.

A properly bred Caucasian Shepherd should be:

     -calm and mentally stable

     -confident without unnecessary aggression

     -observant rather than reactive

     -loyal and deeply protective

These dogs do not work like obedience-driven breeds. They think independently, assess situations naturally and react only when truly necessary.

Their calm confidence and balanced temperament  are among the defining characteristics of the breed.
